Ravenna is in the northwestern part of Fannin County. It is about 9 miles (14 km) northwest of Bonham. Bonham is the main city and county seat of Fannin County.

The city is also about 14 miles (23 km) northeast of Bells. Ravenna is close to the Red River. This river forms the border with Oklahoma, about 5 miles (8 km) to the southeast.
