Ravindrasinh Anirudhsinh Jadeja (born 6 December 1988) is a famous Indian cricket player. He is known as an all-rounder, which means he is great at both batting and bowling. He bats left-handed and bowls a type of spin called left-arm orthodox. Many people think he is one of the best all-rounders and fielders of his time.
Jadeja became the longest-reigning World No. 1 Test all-rounder in the ICC Rankings in 2025. He helped India win the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, where he took the most wickets. He was also part of the team that won the 2024 T20 World Cup. After this win, he stopped playing T20 International matches. In 2025, he won his second ICC Champions Trophy, hitting the winning runs in the final. He plays for Saurashtra in first-class cricket and has captained the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.
Jadeja was the vice-captain of the Indian Under-19 team that won the World Cup in 2008. He made his first ODI match appearance against Sri Lanka in 2009. He scored 60 runs without being out in that match. His first Test match was almost four years later, in 2012, against England.

Early Life and Cricket Start
Ravindra Jadeja was born on 6 December 1988 in Navagam Ghed city in Gujarat, India. His father worked as a watchman. His father wanted him to join the army, but Ravindra loved cricket. When he was young, he was a bit scared of his father.
Sadly, his mother passed away in an accident in 2005. This was a very difficult time for him. It almost made him stop playing cricket. His sister, Naina, is a nurse. Ravindra lives in Jamnagar.
Playing for Teams
Youth Cricket
Jadeja started playing for India's Under-19 team when he was just 16 in 2005. He was part of the Indian team for the 2006 U/19 Cricket World Cup. India finished second in that tournament. Jadeja did well, taking three wickets in the final.
He was the vice-captain of the Indian team that won the 2008 U/19 Cricket World Cup. He was very important with his bowling, taking 10 wickets in six games.
First-Class Cricket Achievements
Jadeja played his first first-class match in 2006–07. He played for West Zone and Saurashtra.
In 2012, Jadeja made history by becoming the first Indian player to score three triple centuries in first-class cricket. A triple century means scoring 300 runs or more in one innings. He joined a special group of players like Don Bradman and Brian Lara. He achieved this amazing feat at only 23 years old.
International Cricket Journey

Ravindra Jadeja started his Indian Premier League (IPL) journey with the Rajasthan Royals in 2008. He played an important part in their victory that year. He scored 135 runs in 14 matches. His captain, Shane Warne, called him a "superstar in the making" and nicknamed him "Rockstar."

Personal Life
Jadeja married Rivaba Solanki on 17 April 2016. They have a daughter who was born in June 2017. His wife, Rivaba, is a politician and an MLA from Gujarat. She represents the Bharatiya Janata Party. His sister and father are members of the Indian National Congress.
