Raymond Fearon is a British actor. He is well-known for playing the garage mechanic Nathan Cooper in the popular TV show Coronation Street. He also voiced the wise centaur Firenze in the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies.

Ray Fearon's Acting Career
On Stage: Theatre Roles
Ray Fearon studied acting at Rose Bruford College. After that, he became a respected stage actor. He worked at many famous theatres across the UK, including the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool and the Manchester Royal Exchange. He also performed on tours in the United States, Europe, and the Far East.
When he was just 24, Fearon played the main character in Othello in Liverpool. He was the first Black actor in over 40 years to play Othello on the main stages of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). Some of his other early theatre roles included characters in plays like The School for Scandal and The Tempest.
He worked a lot with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). In 1999, he played Othello again for the RSC, which was a big achievement. He also played Romeo in Romeo and Juliet in 1997. Other important RSC roles included Pericles in Pericles, Prince of Tyre and Mark Antony in Julius Caesar.
In 2013, he played Macduff in Macbeth alongside famous actors Kenneth Branagh and Alex Kingston. This play was even shown in cinemas as part of National Theatre Live. In 2017, he starred in the musical Guys and Dolls in Manchester.
On Screen and Radio
Ray Fearon is also famous for his work in television and films. From 2005 to 2006, he played Nathan Cooper in the long-running soap opera Coronation Street.
He voiced Firenze the centaur in the 2001 film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. He also provided vocal effects for Fawkes the phoenix in some Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies.
In 1996, he had a small role in Kenneth Branagh's film version of Hamlet. In 2006, he joined the TV show Strictly Come Dancing, where he danced with Camilla Dallerup. He was voted off in week 6.
He also appeared in the Starz TV series Da Vinci's Demons from 2013 to 2015. In 2019, he was in the popular BBC Three comedy-drama Fleabag. On radio, he was the narrator and voiced the angel Balthamos in the BBC's 2003 radio play of His Dark Materials.
