Ray Fearon is a talented British actor. He is known for his roles in many popular TV shows and movies. You might recognize him from the Harry Potter films or the Fantastic Beasts (film series) series. He also played Nathan Cooper in the TV show Coronation Street.

About Ray Fearon
Early Life and Training
Ray Fearon grew up in northwest London. He was the youngest of ten children. His parents came from Jamaica. From a young age, Ray loved acting. He joined youth theatre groups like the Royal Court Theatre and Tricycle Youth Theatre. Later, he studied drama at Rose Bruford College. This helped him become a professional actor.
A Star on Stage
Ray Fearon first became famous for his work in theatre. He performed in many plays across the UK. He worked at famous places like the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool and the Royal Exchange in Manchester. He also performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC).
One of his most notable roles was playing Othello. He was only 24 years old when he first took on this big part in Liverpool. He later became the first Black actor in over 40 years to play Othello on the main RSC stage in 1999. He also played Romeo in Romeo and Juliet and Mark Antony in Julius Caesar (play). In 2013, he played Macduff in Macbeth alongside Kenneth Branagh. This performance was even shown in cinemas!
On Television and Film
Ray Fearon has appeared in many well-known TV shows and movies. In 2001, he was the voice of Firenze the centaur in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. He also provided vocal effects for Fawkes the phoenix in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
From 2005 to 2006, he played Nathan Cooper in the popular soap opera Coronation Street. He also appeared in EastEnders and Doctors. In 2006, he even competed on Strictly Come Dancing.
From 2013 to 2015, Ray played Carlo de' Medici in the series Da Vinci's Demons. More recently, he was in the comedy-drama Fleabag in 2019. In 2023, he starred as Beres Champion in the BBC series Champion. This show is about a family involved in London's Black music scene. He has also been in movies like Beauty and the Beast (2017) and Barbie (2023).
Voice Acting for Radio
Ray Fearon has also lent his voice to radio dramas. In 2003, he was the narrator and the voice of the angel Balthamos in the BBC Radio 4 adaptation of His Dark Materials.
