Ray Frederick (born July 31, 1929 – died August 23, 2001) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He played as a goaltender, which is the player who tries to stop the puck from going into the net. Ray Frederick played five games in the NHL with the Chicago Black Hawks during the 1954-55 NHL season.

Ray Frederick's Hockey Journey
Ray Frederick started his hockey career in his hometown with the Fort Frances Canadians. This team was part of the Northern Hockey League.
Playing in Junior Leagues
After playing locally, Ray moved on to play in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. He spent two seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings. Junior leagues are where young players develop their skills before becoming professionals.
Moving to Senior Leagues
After his time with the Wheat Kings, Ray played for the Edmonton Flyers for two seasons. They were part of the Western Canada Senior Hockey League. Senior leagues are for older, more experienced players who are not yet in the very top professional leagues.
He then played for several other teams:
- One season with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens in the Quebec Senior Hockey League.
- One season with the Charlottetown Islanders in the Maritime Major Hockey League.
- Three seasons with the Ottawa Senators, also in the Quebec Senior Hockey League.
Reaching the NHL
Ray Frederick also played one season in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Buffalo Bisons. The AHL is a major league right below the NHL.
His biggest achievement was playing five games with the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL. The NHL is the top professional ice hockey league in North America. He played these games during the 1954-55 season.
Ray Frederick retired from professional ice hockey in 1958.
