Raymond Lamarr Webber was born on June 1, 1989. He is a former professional American football player. He played as a wide receiver. A wide receiver is a player who catches passes from the quarterback. Raymond Webber played college football for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. After college, he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2011. He was an undrafted free agent, meaning he wasn't chosen in the main draft but signed later.

Raymond Webber's Early Life

Raymond Webber was born in Saint Louis, Missouri. He went to Cleveland NJROTC High School in South Saint Louis. Later, he moved to Clyde C. Miller Career Academy. Because of this transfer, he could not play sports during his first year there. However, Raymond was very good at three sports at Miller Career Academy. He played basketball, football, and ran track.

College Football Career

Raymond Webber attended the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. He studied business marketing there. He was a four-year letterman in football. This means he played on the varsity team for four years.

Setting Records at UAPB

Webber set several records for the Golden Lions. He holds records for the most catches in a single game. He also has records for the most yards gained in a game. Raymond also set records for catches and yards in a single season. He holds the records for career catches and career yards too.

A Special Season

In his final year, Webber made 101 catches in one season. This was a huge achievement. He became only the second player in the history of the Southwest Athletic Conference to catch over 100 passes in a season. The only other player to do this was the famous Jerry Rice, who had 103 catches. While at Pine Bluff, Raymond also joined the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.

Professional Football Journey

Raymond Webber played for several teams during his professional career. He started in the NFL. Then he played in other leagues like the AFL and the CFL.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Webber signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in July 2011. He joined them as an undrafted free agent. Unfortunately, he had a hamstring injury. He was placed on the injured reserve list in August 2011.

New York Jets

The New York Jets signed Raymond Webber on June 19, 2012. He was with the team for a couple of months. The Jets later waived him on August 25, 2012.

Arizona Rattlers
