The Red Bluff Reservoir is a large, human-made lake built on the Pecos River. It is located about 40 miles (64 km) north of Pecos, Texas. This reservoir stretches across parts of Loving and Reeves Counties in Texas. It also reaches into Eddy County in New Mexico.

A cool fact about Red Bluff Reservoir is that its northern edge is the lowest point in the entire state of New Mexico! The reservoir was created in 1936. A group called the Red Bluff Water Control District built a dam to form it. The main reasons for building it were to provide water for irrigation (watering crops) and to generate hydroelectricity (power from water). People also enjoy the reservoir for fun activities.
