In 2020, about 31,749 people lived in Redan. It is mostly an African American community located east of DeKalb County. Redan is also a suburb of Atlanta, which means it's a smaller town near a big city. People say the name "Redan" comes from two early settlers, N. M. Reid and Annie Alford.
