Reese's Sticks are a popular candy bar. They have crispy wafers filled with creamy peanut butter. A layer of delicious milk chocolate covers the outside.
The Hershey Company makes these treats. They first came out in 1998. You usually find them sold in pairs, much like Twix bars or two-finger Kit Kat bars.
How Reese's Sticks Got Their Name
When this candy first came out, it was called "ReeseSticks." This name was a bit different from other Reese's products. Most Reese's candies have an apostrophe 's' in their name, like "Reese's Peanut Butter Cups."
Many people naturally said "Reese's Sticks" even though the official name was "ReeseSticks." In 2009, The Hershey Company listened to what people were saying. They officially changed the name to Reese's Sticks.
Similar Snacks
Reese's Sticks look a lot like Nutty Bars. Nutty Bars are another popular snack made by McKee Foods. Both have layers of wafers, peanut butter, and chocolate.
Why Reese's Sticks Are Banned in Norway
In Norway, Reese's Sticks are not allowed to be sold. This is because of certain ingredients they contain. These ingredients are called genetically modified additives. Some countries have rules about what types of ingredients can be in food. Norway has decided that these specific additives are not allowed in their food products.
