Reggie Evans' College Basketball Journey
Reggie Evans started his college basketball career at Coffeyville Community College in Kansas from 1998 to 2000. After that, he moved to the University of Iowa.
At Iowa, Reggie was a standout player. In 2001, he led all college players in the number of free throws he tried and made. He also had the most "double-doubles" in the nation. A double-double is when a player gets 10 or more in two different stats, like points and rebounds, in one game.
Reggie was also the best rebounder in the Big Ten Conference in both 2001 and 2002. He was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Big Ten Tournament in 2001. His strong play earned him an "Honorable Mention All-American" title in 2001.
Reggie Evans' Professional NBA Career
Playing for the Seattle SuperSonics (2002–2006)
Reggie Evans joined the Seattle SuperSonics in 2002. He quickly became famous for his amazing rebounding skills. He was so good at grabbing rebounds that in the 2004–05 season, he led the entire league in rebounds per minute played. This means he grabbed more rebounds than anyone else for the amount of time he was on the court.
Even though he played less than 24 minutes per game, he still finished ninth in the NBA for total rebounds that season. Experts at ESPN even said that Reggie would grab about one-quarter of all missed shots when he was in a game!

Time with the Denver Nuggets (2006–2007)
In February 2006, Reggie was traded to the Denver Nuggets. He immediately started playing more minutes with his new team.
One notable game was on March 10, 2006, against the Toronto Raptors. Reggie didn't score any points, but he grabbed an incredible 20 rebounds! He was the first player since Dennis Rodman in 1997 to get 20 rebounds in a game without scoring.
Joining the Philadelphia 76ers (2007–2009)
Reggie Evans was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in September 2007. He became the starting power forward for the team in the 2007–08 NBA season.
With Reggie on the team, the 76ers went from being one of the worst rebounding teams to being in the top 15. He played almost every game that season and started more games than he had in his two years with the Nuggets. During a playoff game against the Detroit Pistons, Reggie helped his team win, and the fans cheered loudly for him.
Playing for the Toronto Raptors (2009–2011)
In June 2009, Reggie was traded to the Toronto Raptors. He started the season with a foot injury, so he didn't play until February 2010.
On November 24, 2010, Reggie had a career-high game with 22 rebounds and 12 points. This helped the Raptors win against the Philadelphia 76ers.
With the Los Angeles Clippers (2011–2012)
Reggie signed with the Los Angeles Clippers in December 2011. He played 56 games for them, averaging about 1.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
Moving to the Brooklyn Nets (2012–2014)
Reggie Evans was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in July 2012. He became known for his strong defensive play.
When a teammate was injured, Reggie got the chance to start games for the Nets. He played so well that he stayed in the starting lineup. On March 27, 2013, Reggie had an amazing game against the Portland Trail Blazers. He scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed a career-high 26 rebounds! The Nets won that game 111–93. Just two days later, he had another great game with 15 points and 16 rebounds. In his first season with the Nets, Reggie averaged over 10 rebounds per game.
Time with the Sacramento Kings (2014–2015)
In February 2014, Reggie was traded to the Sacramento Kings.
During the 2014–15 season, Reggie didn't play much at first. But when the Kings' main center was out, Reggie stepped up. In a game against the Memphis Grizzlies, he scored 17 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in 35 minutes! He helped the Kings get back into the game, showing his strong rebounding skills once again.
