P. K. Reghukumar, also known as Raghukumar, was a talented music composer from Kerala, India. He was born on June 13, 1953, and passed away on February 20, 2014. His musical works became very popular in the 1980s.

Early Life and Music Journey
Raghukumar was born in Kozhikode, Kerala, on June 13, 1953. He started learning music at a young age. He first trained in Carnatic vocals, which is a type of Indian classical singing. His teacher was Guru G.S.Sreekrishnan.
Later, he learned to play the tabla, an Indian drum. His tabla teacher was Guru Balasubramaniam from All India Radio. Raghukumar was also very interested in Hindustani music. He learned to play the sitar, a string instrument, from Guru Vincent.
Becoming a Professional Musician
When he was 15, Raghukumar started performing on stage. He played alongside famous musicians who performed Indian classical and Western percussion. By the age of 16, he was a recognized percussionist for All India Radio. This meant he was a skilled player.
He later became a top-level music composer for All India Radio. He joined the film industry as a musician. He worked under the famous music arranger and composer R. K. Shekhar. R. K. Shekhar was the father of the well-known composer A. R. Rahman.
Family Life and Passing
Raghukumar was married to the actress Bhavani. They had two daughters named Bhavana and Bhavitha.
Raghukumar passed away on February 20, 2014, when he was 60 years old. He died due to kidney failure. He is remembered for his contributions to Indian music.
