Reginaldo de Lizárraga (born in 1535 – died November 10, 1609) was an important leader in the Catholic Church. He was a bishop, which is a high-ranking religious leader. He served as the Bishop of Paraguay in 1609 and also as the Bishop of Concepción in Chile from 1598 to 1609. He was a member of the Order of Preachers, also known as the Dominicans.

Life and Church Work
Early Life and Becoming a Priest
Reginaldo de Lizárraga was born in a place called Lizarraga in Spain. When he was older, he decided to become a priest. He joined a religious group called the Order of Preachers, which is a type of monk or friar group.
Becoming a Bishop
On August 31, 1598, a very important leader, Pope Clement VIII, officially approved Reginaldo de Lizárraga to become the Bishop of Concepción in Chile. He started his work there in December 1602.
A special ceremony called a "consecration" took place on October 24, 1599. During this ceremony, he was officially made a bishop by Toribio Alfonso de Mogrovejo, who was the Archbishop of Lima.
Serving in Paraguay
Later, on July 20, 1609, another Pope, Pope Paul V, chose Reginaldo de Lizárraga to be the Bishop of Paraguay. He served in this important role until he passed away on November 10, 1609.
