Regla Maritza Bell MacKenzie, born on July 6, 1970, is a famous former volleyball player from Cuba. She was an amazing athlete who played for the Cuban national volleyball team. Regla Bell won three gold medals at the Olympic Games between 1992 and 2000.

She also earned gold medals at the FIVB World Championship in 1994 and 1998. Regla was known for being a powerful left-handed striker. In 2024, she was honored by being added to the International Volleyball Hall of Fame.

Regla Bell's Volleyball Career

Regla Bell had a very successful career playing volleyball for both her country and different clubs. She was a key player in many important victories.

Playing for the Cuban National Team

Regla Bell achieved incredible success with the Cuban national volleyball team. She won three gold medals in a row at the Summer Olympics. These victories happened in 1992 (Barcelona), 1996 (Atlanta), and 2000 (Sydney).

She also helped her team win two gold medals in a row at the FIVB World Championship. These wins were in 1994 and 1998. Regla Bell also won four gold medals in a row at the FIVB World Cup. These victories were in 1989, 1991, 1995, and 1999. She was even the captain of the Cuban team at the 2000 Olympics.

Regla Bell also won gold medals at the Pan American Games in 1991 (Havana) and 1995 (Mar del Plata). She later won a silver medal at the 1999 games in Winnipeg.

Playing for Volleyball Clubs

Besides playing for her country, Regla Bell also played for many different volleyball clubs around the world.

Playing in Spain

During the 2008–09 season of the Spanish Superliga, Regla Bell was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP). She was also the Best Scorer, making 439 successful hits during that league season. She played for Fígaro Peluqueros Tenerife in Spain during the 2010-11 season. She also played for other Spanish clubs like UCAM Murcia and Grupo 2002 Murcia.

Playing in Other Countries

Regla Bell also played for São Caetano/Blausiegel in Brazil during the 2009–10 season. Later, she played for the Indonesian club Monokwari Valeria in the 2012–13 Indonesian volleyball league. In 2014, she signed a short contract with PLDT HOME TVolution, a team from the Philippines. This team took part in the 2014 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship.
