Reid Key is a small, uninhabited island located in the beautiful Biscayne National Park in Florida. It's part of the Florida Keys, a chain of islands off the southern coast of Florida. This little island is found in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Where is Reid Key?

Reid Key is situated in the southern part of Biscayne Bay. Imagine a map: it's just north of two other islands called Old Rhodes Key and Totten Key. It's also east of the southern tip of Elliott Key. You can find it nestled between the Rubicon Keys and Porgy Key. A waterway called Caesar Creek runs along its south side, separating it from Elliott and Old Rhodes Keys.

A Glimpse into History

This island was named a long time ago after an early settler who lived in the area. We know this because an old map from 1861, called the Bache Coast Survey, clearly shows the island listed as "Reid's Key." This shows that the island has been known by this name for a very long time.
