Reidsville During World War II

During World War II, Reidsville had at least one, and possibly two, prisoner of war (POW) camps. These camps held captured German soldiers. The exact location of these camps is not fully known today. People believe one camp might have been near where a gas station and storage company are now.

Researchers have found some German items in the area. However, because many houses have been built there, it's hard to tell if these items were from the camp or from the onion fields where the prisoners used to work.
