Rewind Racers is a super fun roller coaster at Adventure City in Stanton, California. This ride replaced an older roller coaster called Tree Top Racers, which closed in 2012. Rewind Racers opened on June 6, 2015. When it first opened, it was the first roller coaster of its kind in North America. It's still a very special ride in the United States today!

Roller Coaster History
In 2012, Adventure City's older roller coaster, Tree Top Racers, closed for good. This coaster was a classic "wild mouse" style ride. It first opened way back in 1958 in Brisbane, Australia. Adventure City bought it in 1999. The park updated it a lot when they bought it. But by the 2010s, it was just too old and had to close. The park then started looking for a new and exciting ride.
On February 24, 2014, Adventure City announced Rewind Racers. This new ride was the park's biggest new project in 20 years! It cost about $2 million to build. The park planned for it to open in the summer of 2014. It was going to be the first "family shuttle coaster" in North America. Riders only needed to be 39 inches tall to ride.
However, the opening was delayed until 2015. Building the coaster started in September 2014. The main track was finished by the end of that year. Work on the station continued into early 2015. After more testing and preparations, Rewind Racers finally opened on June 6, 2015. A cool shed was planned for the ride, but it wasn't built until 2020.
Ride Features
Fun Facts and Figures
Rewind Racers is about 39.3 feet (12.0 m) tall. Its track is about 593.8 feet (181.0 m) long. The coaster can reach a top speed of 31.1 mph (50.1 km/h). The ride fits into a space about 213 feet by 65 feet. The track is also very close to S. Beach Road.
The coaster uses one train that can hold 14 people. It has 7 cars, and each car has one row for two riders. Rewind Racers is a Shuttle roller coaster. This means the track doesn't make a full circle. The train goes forward, then goes backward over the same track! A good example of another shuttle coaster is Montezooma's Revenge at Knott's Berry Farm.
Who Built the Ride?
Rewind Racers was built by a company called Gerstlauer. They are famous for making roller coasters. Gerstlauer also built the popular HangTime at Knott's Berry Farm in 2018. That park is just a few miles away!
Another company, Ride Entertainment, helped with the project. They handle all of Gerstlauer's sales in the Western Hemisphere. R&R Creative Amusement Designs also helped. This design company is based in Anaheim, California. They worked with Adventure City before. They designed the cool "soap box racers" theme for the ride. They also designed the station and the line where you wait.
What's the Ride Like?
First, the train slowly backs out of the station. It then goes up the 39.3-foot (12.0 m) tall Lift hill. At the top, it backs into a shed. A voice tells you the race is about to begin! The train then speeds down the hill. It rushes through the station towards Starr Street.
Next, you go through a tight left turn. Then there's a quick "airtime bump" that makes you feel light! After that, the train goes through a big clockwise loop. It goes over a park pathway and the Express Train ride. You then go up a short lift hill next to the first one. The train parks in the shed again. The voice tells you that you're falling behind in the race! To catch up, the train is pushed backward! It goes back through the whole ride layout. Finally, the train swings back into the lift hill. It comes to a complete stop in the station.
