Ridgetop is mostly located in Robertson County. However, two small parts of the city are actually in Davidson County. This makes Ridgetop special because it spans across two different county lines!
The city covers a total area of about 7.5 square kilometers (about 3 square miles). All of this area is land, meaning there are no large natural bodies of water within the city limits.
Cool Features of Ridgetop
Ridgetop has some interesting features. There's a small lake that was made by people a long time ago. It was built in the early 1900s to attract visitors and tourists to the area.
Underneath the town, there's a really cool railroad tunnel called "Ridgetop Tunnel." This tunnel was dug out in the early 1900s. When it was finished in 1905, it was the longest tunnel in the world that didn't need any support columns inside!

- Grandpa Jones was an American banjo player and singer. He was famous for his "old time" country and gospel music. He was also a member of the Grand Ole Opry, a famous country music show.
- David "Stringbean" Akeman was another American country music banjo player and comedian. He was best known for his role on the popular television show Hee Haw. He was also a member of the Grand Ole Opry, just like Grandpa Jones. David Akeman and his wife were neighbors of Grandpa Jones.
