The Right Fork Little Kanawha River is a small river in central West Virginia, United States. It is about 14.1 miles (22.7 km) long. This river is a branch, or tributary, of the Little Kanawha River.

The Right Fork Little Kanawha River is part of a much larger watershed. A watershed is an area of land where all the water drains into one main river or body of water. This river's water eventually flows into the Ohio River and then into the mighty Mississippi River. It helps drain an area of 37.6 square miles (97 km2) of rural land.

Where the River Flows

The Right Fork Little Kanawha River starts in the southeastern part of Upshur County. This is about 4 miles (6.4 km) west of a town called Helvetia.

From its start, the river generally flows towards the west. It forms part of the border between Upshur and Webster counties. Then, it continues along the border between Lewis and Webster counties.

As it flows, the river passes through a small community named Cleveland. Near its end, it goes through a tiny part of eastern Braxton County.

Finally, the Right Fork Little Kanawha River flows into the Little Kanawha River. This happens near the border of Braxton and Lewis counties. It's about 2 miles (3.2 km) southwest of the community of Wildcat.

Other Streams

One interesting stream that joins the Right Fork is called the Left Fork Right Fork Little Kanawha River. Yes, that's a long name! It means it's a "left branch" of the "right branch" of the Little Kanawha River.

This Left Fork flows west for about 7.1 miles (11.4 km). It runs through the southern part of Upshur County before joining the Right Fork.
