Discover the Story of Rio
Rio tells the amazing story of a blue macaw named Blu. When he was just a baby, he was taken from his home in the jungle near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was then brought all the way to the United States.
Blu's New Home and Big News
In the U.S., a kind American girl named Linda took care of Blu. They became the best of friends. One day, a scientist named Tulio gives Linda some surprising news. He tells her that Blu is the very last male of his kind, a rare Spix's macaw.
A Trip Back to Brazil
To help his species survive, Blu must return to Brazil. There, he needs to meet Jewel, a female macaw who is also the last of her kind. The goal is for Blu and Jewel to fall in love and have baby macaws.
Overcoming Challenges in Rio
Blu and Jewel, along with their new friends, face many challenges. They have to escape from bird smugglers who want to capture them. Blu also has a big secret: he can't fly! This makes their adventure even harder.
The Exciting Ending
Despite all the obstacles, Blu and Jewel work together. In a thrilling moment at the end of the movie, Blu finally learns to fly. He uses his new skill to save Jewel from falling out of a plane. It's a happy ending for the two macaws!
