Rob Lake is an amazing American magician and illusionist. He is famous for his big, original magic tricks and exciting stage shows. Rob was a quarter-finalist on the TV show America's Got Talent in 2018. He has performed his magic shows in over 60 countries around the world. You can see his shows on television, in casinos, and in theaters.

Rob Lake's Magic Career

Rob Lake became interested in magic when he was 10 years old. He saw a magic show by Kirby VanBurch in Branson, Missouri. Kirby VanBurch and another magician named Jim Smithson became Rob's teachers.

Early Performances and Awards

In 2005, when Rob was 22, he went on his first international tour. He performed in Japan for several months. After that, Rob started performing his exciting shows for casinos and cruise ships. This included ships for Disney Cruise Line and Holland America Line.

In 2008, Rob Lake received a special award called the Merlin Award. He was named the International Stage Magician of the Year. He was the youngest magician ever to win this award! Rob also performed some of his illusions for a TV show called Great Magicians of the World. This show aired in 2008 and 2009.

Touring the World

Rob Lake has traveled a lot, performing his shows in theaters and casinos. He spends most of his year on the road. He has performed all over the United States, from Florida to California. He has also toured Japan three times and Europe four times. His European tours included countries like England, France, Germany, and Spain. Rob has also performed in Australia, Guam, Thailand, Hawaii, and even at The White House!

In 2012, Rob Lake performed at Harrah's Casino and received great reviews.

Amazing Illusions

On March 29, 2013, Rob Lake made an armored truck magically appear. The truck had $1,000,000 cash inside! This happened outside the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. Over 15,000 people watched this amazing trick. Rob created this illusion for Caesars Entertainment Corporation. Caesars was so impressed that they showed videos of the trick in Times Square and on the Las Vegas Strip.

Rob has also performed his illusions on television. In 2013, he performed eight illusions for the show Masters of Illusion (TV series), which aired in 2014. He was also featured on the TV series Elizabeth Stanton's Great Big World in 2013 and 2014.

Rob Lake is known for his very large magic tricks and exciting shows. In April 2014, he brought his grand illusions to Resorts World New York City Casino. He also performed nightly at the Trump Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey in July and August 2014.

The Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in Nassau, Bahamas invited Rob Lake to perform nightly from June through September 2015. His shows were so popular that he was asked to stay and perform through the fall of 2016. From 2016 to 2017, Rob Lake performed nightly at Harrah's Lake Tahoe. He returned to the Atlantis Resort in the summer of 2018.

America's Got Talent

Rob Lake was a featured act on season 13 of America's Got Talent. He made it to the quarter-finals! About 60 million people watched him on TV. Millions more have watched his performances online.

Operation Magic for Troops

Rob Lake also does something special called "Operation Magic." He goes on an international tour for several months each year. He performs for US military troops and their families overseas. He brings his shows to bases in faraway places in Europe and the Pacific. He also gives magic tricks to the troops and their families as gifts.

Helping Animals in Oklahoma

On August 24, 2013, Rob Lake performed a special show in his hometown of Norman, Oklahoma. This show helped raise money for local groups that care for pets. Many pets were left without homes after a big tornado hit the area. After the show, Rob Lake received an award from the Oklahoma House of Representatives. They thanked him for helping the people and animals of Oklahoma. He was also recognized on Oklahoma Magazine's "40 under 40" list.

In 2017 and 2018, Rob Lake returned to Norman, Oklahoma. He performed more shows to raise money for local animal shelters and organizations. Rob Lake travels with his own rescue dog, a Yorkshire Terrier mix named Roger. Roger sometimes joins him in his performances!

Besides performing, Rob Lake also designs and creates special effects and illusions. He works on magic for movies, TV shows, and plays.

Over 2.6 million people saw Rob Lake's illusions on Season 2 of the TV show Necessary Roughness (TV series).

Rob Lake has designed magic for more than 1,000 productions of Disney's Beauty and the Beast around the world. He has also worked on many productions of The Phantom of the Opera. Other shows he has helped with include Shrek the Musical, A Christmas Carol, Peter Pan, The Woman in Black, and The Wizard of Oz.
