Robert "Rob" Sean Moore (born September 27, 1968) is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the wide receivers coach for the Carolina Panthers in the National Football League (NFL).

Moore played as a wide receiver for the New York Jets from 1990 to 1994. He then played for the Arizona Cardinals from 1995 to 2001. Before joining the NFL, he played college football at Syracuse University. He was recognized as an All-American in 1989, which means he was one of the best college players in the country.

Playing Football

Rob Moore was a tall and strong player, standing 6 feet 3 inches tall. He played in the NFL for 11 seasons, from 1990 to 2001. The New York Jets picked him in the first round of a special draft in 1990.

During his career, Moore caught 628 passes for a total of 9,368 yards. He also scored 49 touchdowns. In the 1997 season, he had an amazing year, catching 97 passes for 1,584 yards and 8 touchdowns. This great performance earned him an All-Pro selection, meaning he was considered one of the best players in the league.

Rob Moore went to Hempstead High School in Hempstead, New York. His younger brother, Brandon Moore, also played in the NFL as a linebacker.

A fun fact about Rob Moore is that footage of him appeared in the famous movie Jerry Maguire. The character Rod Tidwell, played by Cuba Gooding, Jr., wore Moore's jersey number 85 in the film.

Coaching Football

After his playing career, Rob Moore became a football coach. In January 2010, he started coaching wide receivers at his old college, Syracuse University. He worked there until 2012.

Later, in 2014, he joined the Buffalo Bills as their wide receivers coach. He coached there for two seasons. In 2018, he became the wide receivers coach for the Tennessee Titans, where he worked until 2023. Now, he coaches for the Carolina Panthers.
