Robert Mandan (born February 2, 1932 – died April 29, 2018) was an American actor. He was famous for playing many different characters on TV shows. Some of his most well-known roles were Sam Reynolds on Search for Tomorrow and Chester Tate on the comedy show Soap. He also played James Bradford on Three's a Crowd.

Robert Mandan's Acting Career
Robert Mandan started his acting journey in the late 1950s. He appeared in many TV shows and even on Broadway. He was known for his ability to play both serious and funny roles.
Early TV Roles
Mandan first appeared in TV shows like NBC's From These Roots from 1958 to 1961. He also played Sam Reynolds, a businessman, on the show Search for Tomorrow from 1965 to 1970. In 1970, he acted on Broadway in the musical Applause.
Famous TV Shows
Before his big role in Soap, Mandan appeared in several popular comedies. He was an auctioneer in Sanford and Son in 1972. He also played a lawyer in All in the Family in 1973. In 1974, he was on Maude.
In 1972, Mandan appeared in an episode of Mission: Impossible. He also guest-starred in two episodes of Barnaby Jones. In 1976, he was in an episode of the western series Sara. He played Colonel Fielding in the TV show Private Benjamin in 1981.
Later TV Appearances
From 1984 to 1985, Mandan played James Bradford on Three's a Crowd with John Ritter. In 1986, he joined The Facts of Life as Dr. Bruce Gaines. His character married Mrs. Garrett, played by Charlotte Rae.
In 1990, he appeared in The Golden Girls. In 1991, he worked again with Katherine Helmond on her show Who's the Boss?.
In 1993, Mandan played a character named Kotan Pa'Dar in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Cardassians". He also had a role in Married... with Children in 1994. He continued to appear in soap operas like Santa Barbara and Days of Our Lives. In 2006, he was a guest star on General Hospital.
