Roberto López Ufarte (born on April 19, 1958) is a Spanish former professional footballer. He played as a forward, which means he was one of the main players who tried to score goals.
People often called him The little devil because of his quick and tricky playing style. He spent most of his 15-year career playing for Real Sociedad. He was with them for 12 seasons and helped them win four big titles, including two La Liga championships. La Liga is the top football league in Spain.
Roberto also played for other famous Spanish clubs like Atlético Madrid and Betis. In total, he played 418 matches and scored 112 goals in the top league. He also represented Spain in the 1982 FIFA World Cup.

Early Life and Club Start
Roberto López Ufarte was born in Fes, Morocco. His parents had moved there from Spain to find work. After about 22 years, his family returned to Irun in the Basque Country, Spain.
Roberto started playing football at a local club called Real Unión. Soon after, he joined Real Sociedad, a bigger team. He made his first appearance in La Liga during the 1975–76 season. He was only 17 years old when he played his first game on November 30, 1975.
Success with Real Sociedad
After his debut, Roberto quickly became a very important player for Real Sociedad. He helped his team win two La Liga titles in a row. These were in the 1980–81 and 1981–82 seasons. He scored 16 goals during these two championship seasons.
He stayed with Real Sociedad until 1987. In his last season with them, 1986–87, he played 33 games and scored ten goals. That same year, he also helped the team win the Copa del Rey, which is another important football cup in Spain. Overall, he scored 129 goals in 474 official games for Real Sociedad.
Later Career and Retirement
After leaving Real Sociedad in 1987, Roberto played one season for Atlético Madrid. His team finished third in the league that year. He then moved to Real Betis, where he finished his playing career at age 31. He had some problems with knee injuries, and his team was moved down to a lower league.
After he stopped playing, Roberto worked as an assistant coach for several teams, including his first professional club, Real Sociedad. He also became the director of football for Real Unión, the club where he started.
International Appearances
Roberto López Ufarte played 15 games for the Spanish national team over five years. His first game for Spain was on September 21, 1977. He even scored a goal in that game, helping Spain win 2–1 against Switzerland.
