How Robin's Donuts Started
Robin's Donuts first opened its doors in 1975. The very first store was in Thunder Bay, Ontario. It was started by two people named Harvey Cardwell and George Spicer.
New Owners and New Look
In October 2006, a company called Chairman's Brand Corporation bought Robin's Donuts. They became the new owners. This company also owned other food brands.
In 2014, Robin's Donuts got a new logo. The word "Donuts" was removed from the name. This change happened because Robin's started selling many new food items. They offered more than just donuts.
Growing Across Canada
Robin's Donuts has locations in many parts of Canada. You can find them in Atlantic Canada and parts of Ontario. They are also in southern Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
In September 2024, Robin's announced exciting plans. They decided to open more stores in Southern Ontario. Robin's had closed many stores there in the early 2000s. This was because of strong competition from other coffee shops. Now, they are trying to grow in that area again.
