Rock Creek is the name of two different rivers in Montana, a state in the western United States. One Rock Creek is about 52 miles (84 km) long. It flows through Missoula and Granite County, Montana. This river is a branch of the Clark Fork river. Its starting point is in Lolo National Forest, close to Phillipsburg, Montana. This Rock Creek flows near the Sapphire Mountains. It joins the Clark Fork river near Clinton, Montana. You can even find Sapphire gemstones along this river!

The other Rock Creek is in south-central Montana, in Carbon County. This stream starts at Glacier Lake. It flows south into Wyoming for a bit. Then, it turns north and comes back into Montana. This Rock Creek flows through the town of Red Lodge. It then joins the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River. It's important not to confuse this river with the Clark Fork of the Columbia River.

Rock Creek and Flooding

In 2022, there were big floods at the Rock Creek in Carbon County. These floods caused a lot of damage to parts of the town of Red Lodge. Many homes and roads were affected by the rising water.
