Roland Delorme's MMA Journey
Starting His Career
Before joining The Ultimate Fighter, Roland Delorme had a good start. He won 7 out of his 9 fights. All of these early matches took place in his home country, Canada.
Competing on The Ultimate Fighter
Roland Delorme was chosen to be on The Ultimate Fighter TV show. He won his first fight by using a move called a triangle choke. This helped him get picked for Team Miller. However, he did not make it to the semi-finals. He lost his next fight to T.J. Dillashaw by submission.
Fighting in the UFC
After The Ultimate Fighter, Delorme joined the UFC. This is one of the biggest mixed martial arts organizations.
- First UFC Win: At The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale, Delorme fought Josh Ferguson. He won this fight by submission in the third round.
- Quick Victory: On May 5, 2012, Delorme faced Nick Denis at UFC on Fox: Diaz vs. Miller. It was an exciting first round! Delorme won by a rear-naked choke just before the round ended.
- A Special Ruling: Delorme then fought Francisco Rivera at UFC 149. He lost this fight by knockout. However, the result was later changed to a "No Contest." This means it was as if the fight never happened, due to an issue with his opponent.
- Back to Winning: On June 15, 2013, Delorme fought Edwin Figueroa at UFC 161. It was a close and exciting fight. Delorme won by a unanimous decision, meaning all judges agreed he won.
- Close Fight: Delorme's next fight was against Alex Caceres at UFC 165. It was another very close match. He lost this one by a split decision, meaning the judges did not all agree on the winner.
- Cancelled Match: He was supposed to fight Davey Grant in March 2014. But the fight was cancelled. Grant had an injury, so he could not compete.
- Later Fights: Delorme then fought Michinori Tanaka at UFC 174. He lost this fight by unanimous decision. His last UFC fight was against Ulka Sasaki at UFC Fight Night 48. He lost this match by submission in the first round. After this fight, he left the UFC.
