Ropesville is found on the high plains of the Llano Estacado. This area is in the southeastern part of Hockley County. The city's exact location is 33.4134229 degrees North and 102.1543406 degrees West.
Two main roads, U.S. Routes 62 and 82, pass through the city. These roads can take you to bigger cities nearby. Lubbock is about 21 miles (34 km) northeast. Brownfield is about 18 miles (29 km) southwest. Levelland, which is the main city of Hockley County, is 24 miles (39 km) to the northwest.
