Rosemount is a small rural area in the Sunshine Coast Region of Queensland, Australia. It is a quiet place where 1,851 people lived in 2021.

Exploring Rosemount's Location
Rosemount is found just east of Nambour. It has natural borders like Petrie and Paynter Creeks to its north, east, and south. The area stretches from west of the Bruce Highway to Bli Bli. This is about 6 kilometers (almost 4 miles) to the east.
Rosemount's Landscape
A road called Upper Rosemount Road follows a high ridge. This ridge helps separate the water that flows into the two creeks. Rosemount covers an area of about 1,160 hectares (about 2,866 acres). The land here goes up to 130 meters (about 426 feet) above sea level.
Because Rosemount is between the bigger towns of Nambour and Maroochydore, some fancy homes have been built here. However, most homes are more affordable.
A Look at Rosemount's Past
In the 1880s, people started to claim land in Rosemount. Most of these new farms were used to grow sugar cane.
Rosemount's Old School
A school called Rosemount Provisional School opened on April 7, 1886. It later became Rosemount State School on January 1, 1909. The school was located on the south side of Upper Rosemount Road. It closed its doors on September 16, 1946.
