About Rotem Sela's Early Life
Rotem Sela (רותם סלע) grew up in Kiryat Haim, Haifa, Israel. Her parents are Liora and Avraham Sela. She has roots from both Polish-Jewish and Turkish-Jewish families. Rotem is the youngest child, and her older sister is Tal Sela. When Rotem was 17, her family moved to Caesarea. Her first name, Rotem, comes from a type of flowering bush mentioned in the Bible. Her last name, Sela, means "a rock" in Hebrew.
After high school, she joined the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). She worked as a clerk for the Israeli Navy at the HaKirya base. Later, in 2011, she earned degrees in law and business administration from IDC Herzliya college.

Rotem Sela has always wanted to build her career in Israel. She believes that Tel Aviv is a special city. She once said that succeeding in America was not her dream. She wanted to work and succeed right there in Israel.

In 2013, Rotem got a big role in Beauty and the Baker. She played the main female character, Noa Hollander. Noa is a wealthy model who falls in love with a baker named Amos Dahari. The show was very popular and received good reviews. In 2017, Amazon bought the rights to stream the first two seasons. This meant people all over the world could watch it on Amazon Prime Video.
Other TV Shows and Films
Rotem continued to act in many other projects. In 2018, she joined the cast of The Psychologist. This Israeli show was similar to the American series Web Therapy. That same year, she also appeared in Autonomies. This was a drama about a future Israel divided into two parts.
In 2023, Rotem starred in A Body That Works alongside Yehuda Levi. This show was about surrogacy and became a huge hit in Israel. It was the most-watched drama of 2023. Rotem even won the Best Actress award for an international series at Series Mania in France. This series was later released worldwide on Netflix.
In 2025, Rotem Sela will star in an Israeli drama called Soda. The film is based on the true story of a Jewish partisan during Second World War.

In 2010, Rotem Sela married Israeli businessman Ariel Rotter. They have three children together.
Rotem became a vegetarian in 2007. She later started moving towards veganism. In 2015, she said she was "90% vegan." In 2014, she supported the Vegan Friendly organization. This group works to prevent harm to cows in the dairy industry.
