Rowse Honey Ltd is a company in the United Kingdom that sells honey. You can find their products in many big supermarkets and other stores. They also provide honey to Kellogg's for use in breakfast cereals. Besides honey, Rowse also makes other sweet treats like lemon curd and maple syrup.

The Sweet Story of Rowse Honey

The story of Rowse Honey began in 1938. That's when Tony Rowse started keeping bees in a small shed in Ewelme, Oxfordshire. He officially started the Rowse Honey Company in that same village in 1954. Later, in 1971, it became a Limited company.

In 1987, the company needed more space. So, they moved to a bigger place in nearby Wallingford. Tony's son, Richard, took over the business that year. In 2006, another company called Wellness Foods bought Rowse Honey. Then, in 2014, Valeo Foods became the new owner.

How Rowse Honey Looks

Rowse honey comes in different containers. You might see it in glass jars shaped like a hexagon. It also comes in plastic bottles that look like a beehive, with green lids.

On the jars, you can find a "strength rating." This tells you how strong the honey's flavor is. The scale goes from Mild, Fairly Mild, Medium, Fairly Strong, to Strong. Recently, a new type of honey sachet was released in the UK. It's designed to snap open and squeeze out the honey easily.

Different Kinds of Rowse Honey

Rowse offers many types of honey for everyday use. These include:

  • Pure & Natural Clear Honey
  • Pure & Natural Set Honey
  • Organic Set Honey
  • Organic Clear Honey
  • Fairtrade Clear Honey
  • Light & Mild Honey

They also have special kinds of honey called Monofloral honey. This means the honey comes mostly from the nectar of one type of flower. Examples are English Wildflower, Scottish Heather, Clover, Orange Blossom, Acacia, and Mānuka. Rowse also sells honey imported from countries like Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania, and Greece.

For something a bit different, Rowse also makes fun, new honey flavors. These include:

  • Honey with Cinnamon
  • Chilli Fusion Honey
