Roy is a small village located in Harding County, New Mexico, in the United States. In 2020, about 193 people lived there. It's a quiet place that was even used as a filming spot for the comedy movie Did You Hear About the Morgans? in 2009.

The Story of Roy
The village of Roy was first started by two ranchers, Frank and William Roy. It was originally located about 2 miles west of where it is now.
How Roy Got Its Name
The village was named after Frank Roy, who became its first postmaster in 1901.
Moving the Village
In 1902, the Dawson Railway was built through the area. This railroad connected Tucumcari to the coal fields at Dawson. Because of the new railway, the village of Roy was moved to its current location to be closer to the train line. The railroad was later removed after 1950.
