Ryan Ford (born March 8, 1982) is a Canadian athlete. He is known for being a professional boxer and a mixed martial artist. Since 2007, Ford has competed in many big fighting organizations. These include Bellator, the WSOF, and the MFC.

Ryan Ford's Fighting Journey

Ryan Ford, also known as "The Real Deal," has had an exciting career in combat sports. He has competed in both mixed martial arts (MMA) and professional boxing. He is known for his powerful strikes and submission skills.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Career

Ryan Ford started his professional fighting journey in 2007. He quickly became known for his exciting fights.

Early Fights in MFC

Ford began his MMA career with the Maximum Fighting Championship. In 2008, he won several fights by submission. He defeated Pete Spratt and CJ Fernandes using a rear-naked choke. He also beat Laverne Clark with a guillotine choke.

Ford fought for the MFC Welterweight Championship twice against Pat Healy. He lost both of these championship fights. He also faced Douglas Lima at MFC 26, losing by armbar submission. Ford later defeated Pete Spratt again in a rematch.

Fighting for Other Promotions

Ford also fought for other organizations. He joined The Fight Club (TFC) in Edmonton. In 2010, he defeated Tom Speer to keep his TFC Welterweight Championship.

In 2011, Ford fought UFC veteran Karo Parisyan. Ford won this fight when the doctor stopped it due to a cut on Parisyan's forehead. He also competed in the Aggression MMA organization. There, he won against Nick Hinchcliffe and Ricky Goodall by TKO.

Bellator and WSOF

In 2012, Ryan Ford signed with Bellator. He won his first fight there against Luis Santos by TKO. He then defeated Kyle Baker by unanimous decision.

Ford later joined the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) in Canada. In 2014, he won the WSOF Canadian Welterweight Championship. He defeated Joel Powell with a knockout in just 53 seconds. Ford later faced Jake Shields at WSOF 14. He lost this fight by rear-naked choke submission.

Return to MMA with Unified MMA

After a break, Ford returned to MMA in 2022 with Unified MMA. He won his first comeback fight against Dawond Pickney by triangle choke. He then won the Unified Super Welterweight Championship by TKO against Robert Hale. In 2023, he lost his title to Fay Bursell.

Professional Boxing Career

Ryan Ford also has a successful career in professional boxing. He decided to focus on boxing in 2015.

Starting His Boxing Path

Ford had his first professional boxing match in 2010, winning by decision. After retiring from MMA in 2015, he fully committed to boxing. He quickly racked up wins, often by knockout. He defeated Gary Kopas, Antonio Dos Santos, and Alvaro Enriquez.

Winning Boxing Titles

Ford continued his winning streak in boxing. He defeated Manus Boonjumnong, an Olympic medalist, by TKO. In 2017, he won the vacant UBO World Light Heavyweight Championship. He defeated Sam Rapira by TKO to earn this title. He successfully defended his UBO title against Robert Berridge.

Ford has also fought for other major boxing titles. He competed for the WBA International Super Middleweight Title and the WBC International Light Heavyweight Title. In 2019, he won the WBC International Silver Light Heavyweight Title. He achieved this by knocking out Serge Michel.
