Saba Rock is a tiny island in the British Virgin Islands, located in the sunny Caribbean Sea. It's about one and a half acres big, which is pretty small! This island is home to a little hotel, a restaurant, a bar, and a gift shop. Visitors can use the dock during the day. There's also a large area for yachts to anchor overnight. The resort even has a boat shuttle. This shuttle takes guests between Saba Rock, Bitter End Yacht Club, and Leverick Bay Marina.

Island Location and Nature
Saba Rock is found entirely within the North Sound of Virgin Gorda. It is part of a group of quiet, mostly uninhabited islands. These islands make up the beautiful North Sound area of Virgin Gorda. Nearby islands include Richard Branson's special Necker Island. There is also the private Island of Eustatia. Around Eustatia Island, you'll find the clear waters of Eustatia Reef. This reef is a fantastic spot for snorkeling.
Island Wildlife
The island is also home to a type of lizard. This lizard is called the crested anole. The specific kind found here is Anolis cristatellus wileyae.
Saba Rock's History
Saba Rock was once owned by Bert Kilbride. He was a marine archaeologist. This means he studied old things found in the sea. For many years, he was also the official "Receiver of Wreck" for the area. This job meant he was in charge of things found from shipwrecks.
Later, the McManus family from Hawaii bought the island. They built the small hotel and restaurant that are there today. Over time, Saba Rock became a very popular place. Many famous people and yacht owners visit it. It is often called one of the best places to stop in the Caribbean.
Hurricane Irma and Rebuilding
In 2017, a very strong storm hit the island. This was Hurricane Irma. The hurricane caused a lot of damage to Saba Rock. But rebuilding started in 2018. The island was planned to reopen in the spring of 2021. This was thanks to the latest owner, Petr Kellner.
