Where is St. Clair Located?
St. Clair is found between two rivers. The Meramec River is to the southeast. The Bourbeuse River is to the northwest.
Major roads pass through the city. Interstate 44 runs along the northwest side. Missouri Routes 30 and 47 also go through St. Clair.
Nearby Towns and Cities
- Union is about six miles north on Route 47.
- Stanton is about eight miles southwest on I-44.
- Parkway is just southeast of the city on Route 30.

Early Beginnings
St. Clair was first called "Travelers Repose." This name meant a place for travelers to rest. The city was officially planned in 1859. This happened when the railroad reached that spot.
