Sally Jane Dynevor (born Sally Jane Whittaker on 30 May 1963) is an English actress. She is most famous for playing Sally Metcalfe in the TV show Coronation Street. She has been on this ITV soap opera since 1986. In 2022, Sally also took part in the TV competition Dancing on Ice.

Early Life and Training
Sally Dynevor was born in Middleton, which is in Greater Manchester. Her parents are Robert and Jennifer Whittaker.
Becoming an Actress
Sally learned how to act at the Oldham Repertory Theatre. She then went on to study at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. This training helped her prepare for her long acting career.

Sally Dynevor is well-known for her role as Sally Webster (later Metcalfe) in Coronation Street. She first appeared on the show in January 1986. She has been a main character ever since.

Sally has won several awards for her acting. In 2011, she was nominated for Best TV Soap Personality. She also helped her co-stars accept an award for Best Storyline that year.

In October 2021, it was announced that Sally would compete in Dancing on Ice. This is a popular TV show where celebrities learn to ice skate. She was paired with professional skater Matt Evers. They were the sixth couple to leave the competition in week 7.

Sally Dynevor married scriptwriter Tim Dynevor on 9 September 1995. Their wedding was at Bowdon Parish Church in Cheshire.
Family Life
Sally and Tim have three children. All of their children were born in Trafford. Their daughters, Phoebe Dynevor and Hattie Dynevor, are also actresses. They both appeared in the BBC drama series Waterloo Road.
Health and Charity Work
In 2009, Sally faced a health challenge. She bravely recovered and returned to Coronation Street in July 2010.
Since 1999, Sally has been an ambassador for ActionAid. This is a charity that helps people around the world. She has traveled to India to raise awareness for the organization. She also represented the charity on the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?.
Royal Recognition
Sally Dynevor was given a special honor in 2021. She was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE). This award is for her services to drama. She received her medal at Windsor Castle on 2 February 2022.
