Phoebe Harriet Dynevor (born 17 April 1995) is an English actress. She is well-known for her roles in films like The Colour Room (2021) and Fair Play (2023). She also starred in the first two seasons of the popular period drama Bridgerton (2020–2022). In 2024, she was nominated for a BAFTA Rising Star Award.
Phoebe started acting when she was a child. Her first big role was in the BBC One school drama Waterloo Road (2009–2010). She then appeared in other BBC shows such as Prisoners' Wives (2012–2013) and Dickensian (2015–2016). She also had roles in American TV series like Younger (2017–2021) and Snatch (2017–2018).

Her Early Life
Phoebe Harriet Dynevor was born on 17 April 1995. She grew up in the Trafford area of Greater Manchester, England. Her dad, Tim Dynevor, is a screenwriter, and her mom, Sally Dynevor, is also an actress. Phoebe's grandparents, Shirley and Gerard Dynevor, also worked in television. She has two younger siblings, a brother named Samuel and a sister named Hattie.
Phoebe went to Oakfield Nursery School in Altrincham. Later, she attended Cheadle Hulme School in Stockport.
How Her Career Started (2009–2019)
In 2009, when Phoebe was 14, she got her first acting job. She played Siobhan Mailey in the fifth season of Waterloo Road. After that, she appeared in other British dramas like Monroe and The Musketeers.
She also had a supporting role in the BBC drama Prisoners' Wives. In this show, she played Lauren, the daughter of a gangster. In 2014, she was in the second season of The Village. From 2015 to 2016, she played Martha Cratchit in the series Dickensian.
In 2016, Phoebe was cast in the crime comedy series Snatch. She starred alongside Luke Pasqualino and Rupert Grint. This was her first role in an American TV show. The series came out in March 2017 and was renewed for a second season. In 2017, Phoebe joined the cast of Younger. She played Clare, who was Josh's (Nico Tortorella) Irish fiancée.
Becoming a Star and Film Work (2020–Present)
In 2019, Phoebe was chosen to play Daphne Bridgerton. This was the main character in the first season of the Netflix period drama Bridgerton. The show is based on the Regency romance novel The Duke and I and was produced by Shonda Rhimes. It first aired in December 2020.
She returned as Daphne Basset (her character's married name) in the show's second season in 2022. In January 2023, Phoebe confirmed she would not be in season 3. However, she said she might return in the future.
Phoebe made her first movie appearance in 2021. She played the ceramic artist Clarice Cliff in the biographical film The Colour Room. In April 2022, she appeared as a fictional version of herself in an episode of Ten Percent. This was the British remake of Call My Agent! on Amazon Prime.
In January 2023, Phoebe starred in the Netflix film Bank of Dave with Rory Kinnear. She also starred opposite Alden Ehrenreich in the thriller film Fair Play. This movie was shown at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and received great reviews.
Her Upcoming Projects
Phoebe Dynevor has several exciting projects coming up. She is set to star in the Sony Pictures thriller film I Heart Murder. She will also be an executive producer and star in a movie based on the Jonathan Stroud novel The Outlaws Scarlett and Browne. Another project is a TV show adaptation of Naoise Dolan's novel Exciting Times. Both of these will be for Amazon Prime Video.
She also has roles in the spy thriller Inheritance with Rhys Ifans. Other upcoming films include the psychological thriller Wichita Libra, Tommy Wirkola's shark thriller Shiver with Djimon Hounsou, and the family thriller Anniversary. She is also joining the cast of The Housekeeper as Daphne Du Maurier.
Her Personal Life
Phoebe practices transcendental meditation every day.
In early 2023, it was confirmed that Phoebe was in a relationship with American actor and producer Cameron Fuller. Cameron is the son of producer Brad Fuller. The couple announced their engagement in May 2024.
Her Work for Good Causes
Phoebe Dynevor is an ambassador for ActionAid UK. This organization works to help women and girls who live in poverty around the world.
