Samia Maxine Longchambon (born on July 13, 1982), whose maiden name was Ghadie, is an English actress. She is best known for playing Maria Connor in the TV show Coronation Street since the year 2000. Samia also competed on Dancing on Ice in 2013. In 2023, she won the cooking competition Cooking with the Stars.

Samia's Early Life
Samia Ghadie was born in Eccles, a town in Greater Manchester, England. Her father, Joseph, was from France and Lebanon. Her mother, Patsy, was an English actress. They met in Abu Dhabi, where Samia also lived for a short time as a child. She has one brother named Tariq.
Samia's Acting Career
Samia Longchambon started acting at a young age. When she was just eight years old, she appeared as an extra in Coronation Street. Ten years later, she became a regular cast member on the show.
Early TV Appearances
Samia's first credited TV role was at age 11 in an episode of Cracker. She also appeared in other TV shows like Children's Ward, Heartbeat, and Doctors. She was also in the children's series Life Force and the film There's Only One Jimmy Grimble.
Becoming Maria in Coronation Street
In 2000, Samia got the role of Maria Sutherland (later Maria Connor) in the popular TV show Coronation Street. She was chosen over other well-known actresses for the part. In late 2009, she took a short break from the show for maternity leave. She returned to her role as Maria in May 2010.

In 2013, Samia joined the eighth season of Dancing on Ice. She was partnered with French professional ice skater Sylvain Longchambon. She had a small injury during training but continued to compete. She was eliminated in the eighth week of the competition.
In 2023, Samia showed off her cooking skills. She competed in the third series of Cooking with the Stars and won the competition!

Samia married Matt Smith, a property developer, in 2005. They had a daughter named Freya in October 2009. In 2011, Samia and Matt announced they had separated.
In May 2015, Samia announced her engagement to Sylvain Longchambon, the ice skater she met on Dancing on Ice. They got married in August 2016. Their son, Yves Joseph Longchambon, was born in September 2015.
Samia's father, Joseph, passed away from cancer in April 2009.
