Sammarinese cuisine facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

San Marino is a small country completely surrounded by Italy. Because of this, the food in San Marino, called Sammarinese cuisine, is very much like Italian cuisine. It's especially similar to the food from the nearby Italian regions of Emilia-Romagna and Marche.

Farmers in San Marino mainly produce cheese, wine, and raise animals. Making cheese is a very important part of San Marino's economy. San Marino even showed off its oils and cheeses at a big world fair in Paris, France, in 1889!
