Sandstone Ranch, also called Sand Stone Ranch when it first started, is a special historic place. It was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places on April 2, 1976. This ranch is located inside the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. It is also part of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The ranch sits just below the beautiful Wilson Range mountains.
History of Sandstone Ranch
This ranch began as a place where people raised cattle. It was started in 1876 by two men, Sergeant James B. Wilson and George Anderson. Over many years, the ranch changed. It went from being a working cattle ranch to a peaceful retreat. A retreat is a quiet place where people can relax.
Who Owned Sandstone Ranch?
Many different people owned Sandstone Ranch over the years. Some famous owners included:
