Sanja Stijačić (born November 14, 1965) is a talented Serbian flutist. She is also a professor who teaches flute at the University of Pristina and the University of East Sarajevo.

Becoming a Flute Expert

Sanja Stijačić was born in Šabac, a city in Serbia, back when it was part of Yugoslavia. She studied at the University of Novi Sad Academy of Arts. She finished her first degree in 1990 and then continued her studies, earning a higher degree in 1998. She always received the best grades! Her main teacher there was Professor Marijan Egić.

Sanja also traveled to Basel, Switzerland, to learn from another famous flute teacher, Professor Aurèl Nicolet. While she was a student, Sanja won many top awards in music contests across her country.

Performing Around the World

Sanja Stijačić is a wonderful performer. She plays the flute by herself (as a soloist) and with small groups of musicians (in chamber music ensembles). She has given many concerts in Yugoslavia and in other countries. She has performed in places like Russia, Hungary, Turkey, Greece, Switzerland, and Romania.

She has also been part of many important music festivals. These include famous events like BEMUS, NOMUS, the Budva City Theatre Festival, Brankovo Kolo, and the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. She also played at the Sarajevo Winter Festival.

Sanja has performed with large music groups called orchestras. Some of these include the Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and the Opera Orchestra of the Serbian National Theatre. She also played with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Vojvodina.

In recent years, Sanja Stijačić has joined in some cool multimedia projects. These projects combine music with other art forms. She has worked with many different artists, including pianists, a soprano singer, a violinist, a poet, a sculptor, and actors. She has also performed music written by composers Aleksandra Vrebalov and Senad Gačević.

Her music has been recorded and played on the radio and television. You can hear her recordings on Radio-Television of Novi Sad, Radio-Television of Belgrade, and Radio-Television of Pristina. Since 1996, Sanja Stijačić has been teaching at the University of Pristina Faculty of Arts. This university is in North Kosovo, Serbia. She is now an associate professor of flute there. She also teaches at the University of East Sarajevo Academy of Music in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Her students from both universities have been very successful. They have won many awards in different music competitions. Sanja herself often helps judge these competitions. She has been a member or even the president of the jury for flute and chamber music contests.
