Santiago's Past: A Quick Look at History
Santiago was officially marked out on a map in 1857. This process is called "platting." It means the land was divided into lots and streets.
A post office served the community for many years. It was open from 1858 until 1985. This allowed people in Santiago to send and receive mail.
