Sardis City is a small town located in the state of Alabama, in the United States. It is found in both Etowah and Marshall counties. The town is part of the larger Gadsden Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Sardis City first became an official town in May 1963. Back then, it was simply called "Sardis." Later, in the 1980s, its name changed to Sardis City. According to the 2020 census, about 1,814 people live there.

Where is Sardis City?
Sardis City is located in the northern part of Etowah County. A very small piece of the town also reaches into Marshall County. The town is near Boaz to its north.
A major road, U.S. Route 431, goes through the western side of Sardis City. This road connects the town to Albertville, which is about 8 miles away. It also leads to Gadsden, the main city of Etowah County, about 17 miles to the southeast.
Land and Water
Sardis City covers a total area of about 7.88 square miles (20.4 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. Only a tiny part, about 0.02 square miles (0.04 square kilometers), is water.
The town sits high up, about 1,080 feet (329 meters) above sea level. It is located on a flat area called Sand Mountain. Water from the town flows east into Short Creek. This creek then flows north into the Tennessee River. A natural boundary called the Tennessee Valley Divide is just west of the town.

As of the 2020 United States census, the population of Sardis City had grown to 1,814 people. There were 686 households and 481 families living in the town.

There were also small numbers of Black or African American people (0.17%), Native American people (0.06%), and Asian people (0.44%). About 3.47% of the population identified as Other or Mixed race. People of Hispanic or Latino background made up about 4.02% of the population.
