Savonburg is a small city located in Allen County, Kansas, in the United States. It's a quiet place with a rich history. As of the 2020 census, 74 people lived in the city.

History of Savonburg
Savonburg started as a town in 1879. No one is quite sure where the name Savonburg came from. It officially became a city in 1902. Many of the first people to settle in Savonburg came from Sweden. In the early days, the city even had its own Swedish concert band!
For most of the 1900s, a railroad called the Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad served Savonburg. It had a special building called a passenger depot where people could get on and off trains. The high school in Savonburg closed in 1946, and its elementary school closed in the 1960s.
