The Scottish Jacobite Party was a small political party in Scotland. It started on July 8, 2005. The party launched in a place called Glenfinnan. This was near the 260th anniversary of Bonnie Prince Charlie starting a famous event there in 1745. The party wanted to bring back some old Scottish ideas.

What the Party Believed In
The party's name, Jacobite, usually means wanting the old House of Stuart family to rule Scotland again. However, this party was different. They were republican. This means they wanted Scotland to be a country without a king or queen.
Why They Used the Name "Jacobite"
The party leader, Dr. John Black, said they used the name "Jacobite" to connect with Scotland's exciting history. He wanted to make the old name feel new and modern. The party also wanted Scotland to be an independent country. They thought Scotland should not be part of the European Union. They also wanted Scotland to use the euro currency.
Party Members and Funding
The Scottish Jacobite Party was very small. It had only three members. This was the smallest number allowed by British law for a political party. The party paid for everything itself. It did not get money from other groups.
The Party in Elections
The Scottish Jacobite Party took part in some elections. They wanted to share their ideas with more people.
2007 Scottish Elections
In the 2007 Scottish elections, the party had one candidate. This was John Black, the party leader. He ran in two areas. He received 309 votes in the Dumbarton area. He also got 446 votes in the West of Scotland region. The party spent very little money on this election. They spent only £528, which was the lowest of any party.
Calling for Independence
The party also started an online petition. A petition is a formal request signed by many people. Their petition asked for a special day to celebrate Scottish independence.
Changes to Party Registration
The party was removed from the official list of political parties on July 19, 2007. This is called "de-registered." But they registered again on March 22, 2010.
2010 General Election
In the 2010 election, John Black ran again. He received 156 votes in the Argyll and Bute area. Another person, Chris Black, also ran for the party. He got 134 votes in the Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk area. The party was de-registered again on March 14, 2011.
