The Serra da Barbanza (also called Sierra del Barbanza in Spanish) is a mountain range in north-west Spain. It stretches from the town of Noia in Galicia towards the southwest. This area is known for its beautiful natural landscapes.

What is the Serra da Barbanza?
This mountain range creates a peninsula (land almost surrounded by water) between two special types of bays called rias. These are the ría de Muros e Noia and the ría de Arousa. They are located on the very western edge of Galicia.
Even though the Serra da Barbanza is not very long, it looks very impressive. This is because its peaks rise quite high, over 600 meters (about 1,968 feet), very close to the water.

- Monte Iroite, which is 685 meters (2,247 feet) tall.
