History of Seven Mile

In 1905, Seven Mile had several local businesses. These included a hotel, a shop for horse harnesses, a tin shop, a meat store, and a mill. The village was safe during the Great Dayton Flood because a raised railroad track protected it from the creek's floodwaters.
Around the year 1900, the village had a unique parade. It was called the "Rag'n Fads" parade. Children would dress up in their most worn-out clothes for this special event. This was mentioned in a magazine called Leslie's Weekly in 1901.
