Severin Freund, born on May 11, 1988, is a famous German former ski jumper. After his career, he became a TV expert. He was one of Germany's most successful ski jumpers, competing from 2008 to 2022. He won the overall World Cup title in 2015 and had 22 individual wins. Severin also won a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics. In 2015, he became a World Champion in both individual and mixed team events.

Severin Freund's Ski Jumping Journey

Severin started his professional ski jumping career in December 2004. His first big win was in Lillehammer in September 2008. He also won a gold medal with his team at the 2008 Junior World Ski Championships. His first World Cup competition was in December 2007 in Engelberg. Before 2011, his best World Cup finish was 12th place in Sapporo.

On December 29, 2010, he finished 6th in the first event of the Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf. On January 15, 2011, he won his first World Cup event in Sapporo. In the same year, he earned his first world championship medal. He finished third with his team in the normal hill competition at the Oslo World Championships. He ended the 2011 World Cup season in seventh place overall.

Since February 2023, Severin Freund has been working as a ski jumping expert for the German TV channel ZDF. He shares his knowledge and experience with viewers.
