The Shadow Mountains are a mountain range found in the Mojave Desert. This desert is located in eastern California, in the United States. The mountains stretch from north to south. They are south of the Kingston Range and east of the Avawatz Mountains and the Silurian Hills.

Where Are the Shadow Mountains?

The Shadow Mountains are in San Bernardino County. They are part of the vast Mojave Desert landscape. To the south and east of the range is the Mojave National Preserve. This is a large protected area.

Nearby Places and Features

The mountains are north of a small town called Halloran Springs. This community is right next to Interstate 15. This major highway connects different parts of California.

On the western side of the mountains, you can find the Eastern Star Mine. In the northwestern part of the range, there is a natural water source called Kingston Spring.

Shadow Mountain Peak

There is a separate, tall peak named Shadow Mountain. It is about six miles east of the main mountain range. This peak reaches a height of 1,279 meters (4,196 ft). It stands out as an isolated point in the desert.
