Shannon Flynn was born on August 22, 1996. She is an English actress and presenter from Rochdale, Greater Manchester. Shannon is well-known for her roles in popular TV shows. She played Emily James in the BBC school drama Waterloo Road. She was also a presenter on Friday Download and starred in its movie, Up All Night. Shannon Flynn started her acting career in 2008. She had some small parts in theatre plays. In 2009, she joined the cast of the BBC One drama Waterloo Road. She played the character Emily James.

In 2012, Shannon got a role in the CBBC children's TV show Dani's Castle. She starred alongside Dani Harmer. The show started in 2013, and a second series aired in 2014. A third series was filmed in 2014 and began showing on July 7, 2015. In Dani's Castle, Shannon played Kait and later Roxy.

Shannon also became a presenter. In 2012, she first appeared on the CBBC children's show Friday Download as a guest. By 2013, she joined the main team of presenters. In 2014, she was cast in the Friday Download movie called Up All Night. Filming for the movie began on September 6, 2014. The movie was released on May 22, 2015. On April 14, 2015, Shannon announced that she would not be returning for the ninth series of Friday Download.

On March 4, 2016, Shannon began playing Lauren in the long-running ITV soap opera, Coronation Street. Her character, Lauren, was a bully to Bethany Platt, played by Lucy Fallon. Shannon's last appearance as Lauren was on September 30, 2016.
