Sharrod Victor Ford (born September 9, 1982) is an American former professional basketball player. He played as a power forward or center. Sharrod played for a short time in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He also played in many top basketball leagues around the world.

Sharrod Ford's Early Life and College Years

Sharrod Ford was born on September 9, 1982. He grew up in Washington, D.C.. For high school, he attended Gwynn Park High School and Hargrave Military Academy.

Playing Basketball at Clemson University

From 2001 to 2005, Sharrod went to Clemson University. He played basketball for the Clemson Tigers. During his time there, he became a standout player. He was the first player since the 1980s to lead his team in both points and rebounds for two years in a row. This means he scored the most points and grabbed the most rebounds for his team.

Sharrod Ford's Professional Basketball Career

After college, Sharrod Ford was not chosen in the 2005 NBA draft. This means no NBA team picked him right away. However, he still got a chance to play professionally.

Starting in the NBA and D-League

On November 2, 2005, Sharrod signed with the Phoenix Suns. He played in three NBA games for them. Later, in January 2006, he joined the Fayetteville Patriots. This team was part of the NBA D-League, which is now called the G-League. He played 15 games for the Patriots.

Playing in Europe: Germany and Italy

In February 2006, Sharrod moved to Germany. He signed with a team called Alba Berlin. With Alba Berlin, he helped them win the 2006 German Cup. He stayed with Alba for another season.

Return to Germany and France

In 2012, Sharrod joined the Erie BayHawks in the NBA D-League for a short time. Then, in August 2012, he signed with the German club Brose Baskets. With Brose Baskets, he had a very successful period. He helped them win the German Bundesliga championship in 2013. They also won the 2013 BBL Champions Cup. He played with Brose for another season.

In June 2014, Sharrod signed with Paris-Levallois in France. In April 2015, he was recognized for his great play. He was named to the All-EuroCup Second Team. This was because he averaged 15.1 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.

Final Years in Turkey

From 2015 to 2017, Sharrod played for Acıbadem Üniversitesi in the Turkish Basketball Second League. He played there for two seasons before ending his professional career.
