Shawn Vere Gore (born April 12, 1987) is a retired professional Canadian football player. He played as a wide receiver, which means he was responsible for catching passes from the quarterback. Shawn Gore spent most of his career playing for the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was chosen by the Lions in the 2010 CFL Draft. He also played college football for the Bishop's Gaiters.

Shawn Gore's Football Journey
Shawn Gore was picked tenth overall by the BC Lions in the 2010 CFL Draft. This means he was one of the top players chosen by a team that year. However, right after the draft, he signed with the Green Bay Packers. They are a team in the National Football League (NFL) in the United States. He joined them as a free agent, which means he was not under contract with any team at that time.
Playing for the Green Bay Packers
Shawn Gore joined the Green Bay Packers in 2010. He was part of their team during the off-season and practice squad. However, he was released by the Packers on August 28, 2010. This meant he did not get to play in a regular season NFL game.
Time with the BC Lions
Soon after leaving the Packers, Shawn Gore signed with the BC Lions on September 5, 2010. He quickly showed his talent. After a strong performance in the Lions' training camp in 2011, he earned a starting spot on the team. This meant he would be one of the main players on offense.
In 2011, Shawn Gore helped the BC Lions win the 99th Grey Cup. This is the championship game of the Canadian Football League. It was a big achievement for him and the team.
On January 13, 2013, Shawn Gore decided to re-sign with the BC Lions for three more years. He had tried out for some NFL teams, but chose to stay in Canada.
Retirement and New Career
On May 4, 2017, Shawn Gore announced his retirement from professional football. He was 30 years old at the time. On the very same day, he was sworn in as a member of the Vancouver Police Department.
